Matthew Pike

Matthew practices exclusively in Family Law. He provides advice and represents his clients in all areas of family law, including divorce; parenting (decision making and parenting time); as well as financial issues related to the division of property and support. Matthew regularly appears before the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, Brampton and Newmarket, and before the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto.

Matthew graduated from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2016. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2017, and has practiced family law since then. Matthew has significant experience dealing with complicated financial matters, including trust claims, determination of income for business owners, self-employed or incorporated professionals; as well as high-income spousal support claims.

During his legal studies, Matthew took additional courses in family law, including Family Law Alternative Dispute Resolution as well as a placement with the Family Division of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia. Matthew was also involved in the Health Law Students Association, and served as Vice President of the Domus Legis Society in his third year.   

Matthew grew up in Ottawa, and studied Philosophy and Psychology at Queen's University. His strong background in psychology assists him when dealing with the complicated interpersonal dynamics often involved in family law matters.
